Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy covers every app published by Christian Andersen under the name Sightgroup. The apps are built to work without collecting personal data. There are no accounts, no user database and no analytics of our own.

The table shows what applies to which app. The sections below explain each point.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Christian Andersen, Denmark. Contact: sightgroup.app@gmail.com.

What is kept on your device

Applies to: All apps

Everything the apps remember about you is saved only on your device, for example:

  • Sight apps: favourites, visited places and settings such as language, units, map style and navigation app.
  • Nordord and Sand+: games, progress, statistics, streaks, coins or cards, and settings.
  • In all apps: which purchases are active.

We cannot see this data and it is not sent to us. It is deleted when you delete the app.

Purchases

Applies to: All apps

Purchases are made through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Apple handles the payment. We never see your name, card details, address or Apple Account.

To check which purchases are active, the apps use RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives a random ID created by the app and the purchase receipt from Apple. It does not receive your name, email or payment details. See revenuecat.com/privacy.

Location

Applies to: Sight apps

If you allow location access, the app uses your position to centre the map on you and show distances to places. Your position is used only on your device and is never sent to us or stored anywhere.

Location is optional. You can turn it off at any time in the iPhone’s Settings, and the app still works.

Maps and content loaded online

Applies to: Sight apps

Place names and descriptions are built into the app. Some things are loaded from the internet while you use it:

  • Maps: on iPhone the map is Apple Maps. Apple receives the map requests, as described in Apple’s privacy policy.
  • Photos: photos of places are loaded from Wikimedia Commons. See the Wikimedia privacy policy.
  • Aurora forecast (Sight Norway and Sight Iceland): the app loads public space-weather data from the US agency NOAA.

These requests go straight from your device to those services. Like any website, they can see your IP address. No personal data from the app is sent with them.

Aurora alerts

Applies to: Sight Norway and Sight Iceland

You can choose to get an alert when the chance of seeing the northern lights reaches a level you set. The app asks for permission to send notifications first.

The alerts are created on your device while the app is open. No notification server is involved and no device token is sent anywhere. You can turn alerts off in the app or in the iPhone’s Settings.

Ads

Applies to: Nordord and Sand+

The free versions show ads from Google AdMob: banners, a full-screen ad between some levels, and videos you can choose to watch for a reward.

Before ads are shown, Google asks for your consent to personalised ads (EU rules), and Apple asks whether the app may track you across other companies’ apps. You can say no to both. You still see ads, but they are not personalised. You can change your choice at any time in the app’s Settings under ad privacy choices.

To show and measure ads, Google may process data such as an advertising ID, your IP address and information about your device. See Google’s privacy policy.

Buying “Remove ads” or a subscription turns off banners and full-screen ads. Videos you choose to watch for a reward are still available.

Game Center

Applies to: Nordord

If you are signed in to Game Center on your iPhone, Nordord sends your scores and achievements to Apple’s Game Center. Your Game Center nickname and scores can appear on leaderboards that other players see.

Game Center is run by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. You can sign out in the iPhone’s Settings under Game Center, and Nordord works without it.

When you contact us

Applies to: All apps

If you write to us, your email is sent from your own mail app. We use it only to answer you and keep it only as long as the conversation needs.

Children

Applies to: All apps

The apps are for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your rights

Applies to: All apps

Under EU data protection law (GDPR) you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. In practice the only personal data we hold is email you have sent us. Write to sightgroup.app@gmail.com.

For ads, your choice can be changed in the app at any time. For purchases, Apple and RevenueCat process data to provide the purchase you asked for.

You can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet, or to the data protection authority in the country where you live.

Changes

Applies to: All apps

If an app starts handling data differently, this policy is updated before the new version is released. The date at the top shows the latest change.
